Events: UITM AutoMech Drift 2009 Part 2 – AutoMech Closing Ceremony

During the drift event, there was a closing ceremony that was held by the students of UITM’s Mechanical Engineering faculty, featuring some of the faculty’s heads of department and top lecturers. After the usual Malaysian ceremony proper had ended (speeches, prayers and ceremonious grandeur), five handpicked drifters were chosen to represent the drift scene as VIP taxis. Here’s some of the pictures taken at the closing show!

Events: UITM AutoMech Drift 2009 Part 1 – In The Pits

7am; MCSB ambled on to the workshop and was greeted by the sight of two REALLY stealthy cars, can you spot them in the picture? UITM’s AutoMech drift event was a couple of hours away, and these cars were ready to be unleashed onto the track. After awaiting for the main man Skagee who arrived a couple of minutes later on to collect his rides, we left for the UITM campus which hosted the drift event at its Padang Kawat.

Well, since most of you weren’t too keen on blurry images as a desktop wallpaper, check out this image of Ivan Lau drifting through the rear clipping point at the MDC Round 1 recently. Oh yeah, we’ll be heading over to the Round 2 of the MDC at the same place, so see you there!

Events; Full Throttle Autoshow Melaka

Auto Showdown participants. All 3 of them?
As promised, we dropped by the Full Throttle Autoshow which was held in Melaka last weekend (technically its still on till 12am today) and immediately ecnountered terrible traffic out of KL via the Sungai Besi toll all the way to after Nilai Memorial Park. The same heavy crawl was encountered at the Ayer Keroh exit as well, no thanks to so-called Datok Shah Rukh Khan who held a concert somewhere in the city. Anyways, since MITC is located in Ayer Keroh itself, somewhere near Zoo Melaka, the journey there was smooth.
