  • Why Wet Roads Are Dangerous

See that beautiful oil patch right there? Naturally caused by the amount of traffic passing by the area, oil slicks are the product of (but not limited to) leaking oil pan gaskets, blow-by from your oil catch tanks as well as byproducts of burning engine oil via leaking piston rings. This particular slick was spotted near Eastin hotel during a traffic holdup after yesterday’s downpour, and measured well over a kilometer. Even if you have the best tires on, there is no recovery from spinning out or crashing into something else if there’s oil on the road. Drive safe!
